Here’s an update from Wally Stimpert, who works at Roto-Mix and also coaches the Spearville WindDawgs, a 13-year-old baseball team in southwest Kansas.
The Roto-Mix sponsored Spearville WindDawgs played in the Wild West Shootout in Dodge City last weekend. There were seven teams in the 13-year-old bracket. The teams included: South West Hitters, Goodland Grizzlies, Liberal Rattlers, Rice County Rattlers, Dodge City Young Guns and the Larned Panthers.
The WindDawgs placed second in this tournament.
On Saturday the WindDawgs played the Goodland Grizzlies and won 9-1. The WindDawgs then played the South West Hitters and lost 6-4.
On Sunday The WindDawgs played their first game at 8:30 a.m. against the Larned Panthers and won 11-1. The second game was played at 12:30 p.m. against the Rice County Rattlers and we won 12-2. Our last game was the championship game at 6:30 p.m. against the South West Hitters and the WindDawgs lost 7-4.
The WindDawgs are now 13-13 for the season. The last tournament for this year is in Hays.
