Roto-Mix Sponsors New TV Show

Roto-Mix is sponsoring new television series that will air in July on RFD-TV.

The show, Grandam Farm, follows the steps of a beginning dairy farmer as he sets out his dream of building a modern, traditional farm.

Viewers will get to see different stages of development, from property choice, crop selection, to what types of cows make the best milk for the farmer’s creamery.

Throughout the show the farmer will get advice from top rated agricultural schools and representatives from the industry’s leading manufacturers.

The show will feature a Roto-Mix VXT-325 feed mixer being used at the new dairy farm and will include other Roto-Mix products in the future. Brady Moy, Roto-Mix’s Northeast Region Manager, has been instrumental in getting the new farm and the TV show up and running as a technical adviser.

Beef Empire Days Coming Up

Good afternoon!

Summer is right around the corner. In southwest Kansas, that means that Beef Empire Days is coming up!

Beef Empire Days is a celebration of the beef industry in Garden City, Kansas. There are numerous events that take place from May 17 through June 30. (For a complete schedule, here’s the Beef Empire Days website.)

Roto-Mix is a proud sponsor of Beef Empire Days. Each year, the Roto-Mix Cattlemen’s Steak Cookout feeds a crowd of hundreds at the Finney County Fairgrounds. (Read a story about last year’s cookout from The Garden City Telegram here: http://tinyurl.com/becyvvr)

This year, the cookout is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. June 4 at the Finney County Fairgrounds.

Mike Hilderbrand, Roto-Mix president, said last year’s cookout served around 850 steaks. The event is free to the public and takes place during the Merck Animal Health Live Show.

This is the 14th year in a row that Roto-Mix has sponsored the event.

If you’re around southwest Kansas the first week of June, come on out to Beef Empire Days. And enjoy the steak!

Winddawgs split double-header

Most of the teams at this weekends tournament cancelled out.  The Roto-Mix-sponsored Winddawgs ended up playing the Amarillo Roughnecks in a double header on Saturday, April 27.

The first game Amarillo beat the Winddawgs with a score of 2-0.

The second game the Winddawgs won with a score of 8-7.

The second game ended in a wild bottom of the 6’th inning.  The Dawgs were the home team and up to bat.  We were behind 5-7 with one out.  We had bases loaded with Alex on third, Levi on second, Hector on first and Wyatt batting.  On a wild pitch Alex stole home then on a error thow from their catcher to the pitcher at home Levi and Hector stole home giving us the winning runs.  We’ll probably never see an ending like that again.

On Sunday, April 28 we played another Amarillo team (Amarillo Vandals) just for the sake of playing.

The Winddawgs ended up losing this game with a score of 11-2

Our next tournament is on 5/18 & 5/19 in Dodge City.
